Cinema VinesAmazon Prime Video has announced a new series that will bring back the on‑screen chemistry of Divyenndu and Harshita Gaur, who famously played Munna Bhaiya and Dimpy Pandit in the hit crime drama Mirzapur. In the upcoming show, titled Waiting Hai, the pair will step into a very different dynamic, portraying a married couple rather than the feuding lovers of the previous series.
The teaser for Waiting Hai was unveiled on Monday and sets the tone for a quirky “scam dramedy” that blends everyday railway chaos, humor and a mystery. The story follows Sugam Mishra, a newly posted Railway Police officer, who finds himself stuck in the dreaded Waiting List – the one place no traveler wants to be. When he notices certain agents receiving tickets with surprising ease while ordinary passengers continue to wait, Sugam begins to suspect that something sinister is at play. The plot thickens with the arrival of Bhuvan Arora’s hacker character, who seems to stay one step ahead of the investigation, creating a playful cat‑and‑mouse chase.
For fans of Mirzapur, the meta element is an added layer of intrigue. In the original series, Dimpy’s brother Guddu Pandit, played by Ali Fazal, famously clashed with Munna Bhaiya. Seeing Munna and Dimpy now share a husband‑wife relationship in a completely different setting is sure to surprise and delight audiences who have followed their journey.
Harshita Gaur spoke about the reunion, saying, “It was genuinely exciting to work with Divyenndu again. We’ve almost been working together for a decade now, so there is already a certain comfort and understanding between us. But Waiting Hai felt even more special because we got to explore such a different dynamic together. Our chemistry in the upcoming show feels very natural.” The series is produced by Jio Studios and Jar Pictures, directed by National Award‑winning filmmaker Sameer Vidwans, and features an ensemble cast that includes Kumud Mishra, Vijay Maurya, Srushti Tare and Sunita Rajwar.
Prime Video will stream Waiting Hai for free, exclusively on the platform and on the MX Player Android app. The show is set to launch soon, offering fans a fresh narrative that combines humor, suspense and the familiar allure of the Mirzapur universe.
