Actor Samvritha Sunil is set to return to Malayalam cinema after a lengthy break, taking the lead in a new film helmed by director Shahid Arafath. The director, who previously released the 2023 movie ‘Thankam’, is now steering this fresh project, which has yet to receive an official title.
The production, which began its launch with a switch‑on and pooja ceremony on Tuesday, is a joint venture between Navarasa Films and Stone Bench Studios. Sreejith K from Navarasa Films and Kaarthekeyan S from Stone Bench Studios are co‑producing the venture, marking their second collaboration following last year’s horror‑comedy ‘Prakambanam’. The film is currently being referred to informally as Navarasa Production No. 3.
Samvritha will share the screen with notable talents such as Dileesh Pothan and filmmaker Alphonse Puthren, who are cast in key roles. Supporting parts are filled by Jibin Gopinath, Abhijith Suresh, Aswathy Manoharan, Riyaz Khan, and Sruthy Jayan, all of whom are expected to deliver pivotal performances.
With its launch already underway and a star‑studded cast, the film promises to be a significant comeback for Samvritha Sunil and a notable addition to Shahid Arafath’s growing directorial portfolio. Fans of Malayalam cinema can look forward to seeing the actress back in a leading role as the project moves into its next production phase.
