Cinema VinesSalman Khan’s Bigg Boss 20 opened its doors on September 6, welcoming 16 celebrities to the high‑stakes house. Among them was Panchayat actor Aasif Khan, best known for his fiery portrayal of groom Ganesh. Fans celebrated his entry, but a throwback clip surfaced that had the actor firmly stating he would never join the reality series.
In a 2024 interview with Hindi Rush, Khan was asked whether he wanted to participate in Bigg Boss. He answered immediately, “Nahi,” and explained that he had been approached for the show before. He recalled receiving an offer in 2022, consulting a few close friends, and watching a season for about a month. After that experience he concluded, “This isn’t my kind of thing.”
Khan also spoke about his stance on “off‑camera acting.” He said, “In life I tell a lot of people, my friends, that you shouldn’t act off‑camera. So I have a big allergy to that whole thing—off‑camera acting. That’s why I said this isn’t something that suits my taste. So I let it go.”
Beyond Bigg Boss, Aasif Khan has built a reputation for strong character roles in films such as Pagglait, Pari, The Great Indian Family and The Bhootnii. His television credentials include web‑series hits Mirzapur, Jamtara and Paatal Lok, and he gained early popularity for his disgruntled groom role in Panchayat Season 1, later returning for Season 3.
