Sanjoy Leela Bhansali’s upcoming romantic drama, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, has pushed back the release of its first teaser. The film, which had been slated to unveil its teaser on September 28 – a date chosen to coincide with Kapoor’s birthday – will now be delayed until a later date.
According to a report by Mid-Day, the final shooting schedule for the film wrapped up only in the first week of September, making the originally planned teaser launch impossible. Instead of releasing the teaser directly online, the makers are now considering a theatrical debut for the first look.
In a move that could broaden the teaser’s reach, Bhansali’s team plans to attach the Love and War teaser to the release of Ramayana: Part 1, which is set to hit theatres during the Diwali 2026 celebrations. With Kapoor starring in both projects, the strategy aims to expose the teaser to a larger audience by leveraging the wider theatrical audience that Ramayana is expected to attract.
The decision to opt for a cinema launch is reportedly driven by Bhansali himself, who wants viewers to experience the film’s first look on the big screen. The teaser is now expected to arrive in November, followed by a trailer in the last week of December, with the full film scheduled for a January 2027 theatrical release.
Until the makers announce a definitive release date and launch strategy, fans will have to wait for further updates. The film’s postponement means that Ranbir Kapoor’s birthday may bring a different surprise than the previously promised Love and War teaser.
