On September 8, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) granted the film a U/A 16+ certificate, but with a few specific edits. The board required a visual at the opening of the movie to be suitably modified. In the second half, a particular word was removed and replaced with the term “Kamina.” Later, a derogatory word in the post‑interval segment was swapped for “Girlfriend.” Additionally, a derogatory sentence in the middle of the film was excised and replaced with the phrase “Dimaag ki vaat laga ke rakh di.” Thankfully, no visual cuts were imposed, allowing the director to retain all the action sequences.
After these changes, the CBFC cleared Haiwaan for release. The certificate lists the film’s runtime as 164.07 minutes, which translates to 2 hours, 44 minutes, and 7 seconds. The movie also stars Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher in supporting roles.
