Akshay Kumar celebrated his birthday on September 9 by revealing the title of his next film, “Maujah Hi Maujah.” The Bollywood star, who has a habit of announcing projects on his own birthday, used the occasion to share the name with fans on Instagram. The announcement came after the actor’s co‑stars from the Anees Bazmee‑directed film—Vidya Balan, Raashi Khanna and Vidya—wished him a happy birthday. Kumar reposted their messages in his stories and wrote, “Thank you so much, ladies! Clearly, we don’t care where we are as long as there’s some Maujah Hi Maujah!”
In a separate post, director Anees Bazmee also sent birthday greetings from his Instagram account. He praised Kumar’s dedication and discipline, saying, “Happy Birthday, Akshay Ji. From the first time we worked together to all the memories we’ve created over the years, it has always been a pleasure watching your dedication, discipline and passion for cinema. You bring an incredible energy to every film and every character, and that commitment is something I have always admired about you. Lots of love and best wishes always.” Kumar replied with enthusiasm, noting, “Thank you, Anees ji. Working on your sets, there’s only one feeling that comes to mind… Maujah Hi Maujah! So excited for everything that’s still to come.”
Thus, the title of the upcoming Anees‑Akshay collaboration is confirmed as “Maujah Hi Maujah.” Meanwhile, Kumar is set to play a new type of role in his film “Haiwaan,” which releases this Friday. In a recent interview with HT City, he explained that his character in Haiwaan is a pure villain with no grey shades, describing the role as a “psycho” and a true challenge for him. He added that the film, directed by Priyadarshan, pits him against Saif Ali Khan.
Akshay’s birthday announcements not only unveiled a fresh title but also highlighted his willingness to explore diverse genres—from comedy and horror to action and drama—making “Haiwaan” his first unequivocally evil character to date.
