After a run in theatres that began on 16 July 2026, Joju George’s Malayalam action thriller Varavu is set to hit the digital stage on 11 September 2026. The film, directed by Shaji Kailas and produced by Naisy Reji under the Olga Productions banner, will stream on the ZEE5 platform in four languages – Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada – giving audiences a second chance to experience the high‑octane drama.
Varavu follows a man who returns to his hometown after a long absence, reigniting old rivalries, family tensions and buried grudges that have shaped the lives of the community. The story is penned by writer A K Sajan, while cinematography is handled by S Saravanan and editing by Shameer Muhammed. The film’s music and background score are composed by Sam CS, and the action choreography is a collaborative effort featuring Stunt Silva, Kalai Kingson, Phoenix Prabu, Rajashekar Master, Thavasi Raj, Mafia Sasi and Jackie Johnson.
The ensemble cast includes Joju George in the lead role, joined by Arjun Ashokan, Murali Gopy, Baiju Santhosh, Baburaj and Vani Viswanath. Supporting performances come from Saniya Iyappan, Abhimanyu Shammi Thilakan and Bobby Kurian. Executive producers Jomy Joseph and Rahul Reji Thomas oversee the project, while Rajakrishnan MR provides audio and sound design, Sameera Saneesh handles costumes, Saji Kattakada is in charge of makeup, and Liju Prabhakar works as the colourist.
Visual effects for the film are delivered by Pictorial FX and Dotvfxstudios, ensuring that the on‑screen action and dramatic sequences meet contemporary visual standards. With its release on ZEE5, Varavu promises to deliver the same intensity and narrative depth that audiences enjoyed in theatres, now accessible to viewers across multiple South Indian languages.
