Suriya unveils new film title; release set for Diwali 2026

On September 9, the makers of the long‑anticipated Tamil film starring Suriya, Nazriya Nazim and Naslen officially revealed the title of the project, which will now be known as Scene. The announcement came alongside the first official glimpse of the film, confirming the working name “Suriya 47” that had been used during production. The film, directed and written by Jithu Madhavan, marks the director’s debut in Tamil cinema after a career in Malayalam films.

Production of Scene is a joint venture between Zhagaram Studios and 2D Entertainment, with Jyotika and Suriya serving as producers and Jaishree Damodaran as co‑producer. The supporting cast includes Anandraj, Lal, Raj Priyan and a number of other actors. The technical crew features Sushin Shyam on music, Vineeth Augustian handling cinematography, and Ajmal Sabu as editor, assisted by Binoy T. Varghese and Arjun Azad. Production designer Ashwini Kale and art director A. Rajesh will shape the film’s visual look, while Chethan D'Souza will oversee the action sequences.

Other key crew members are Mashar Hamsa as costume designer, Ronex Xavier on makeup, Vishnu Govind for audiography, and Hariharasuthan responsible for visual effects. Tamil dialogues were penned by Dravid Selvam. The film’s first glimpse also introduced a promotional track titled “Scenuke Scene,” composed by Sushin Shyam with lyrics by Vaasi and additional music production by Nivin Raphael. The song features a choir arrangement that incorporates soprano, alto, tenor and bass voices.

Executive production is handled by MP Senthil, with Sushma Krishnamoorthy as chief executive officer and K. Sridhar Raj as production executive. Casting was managed by Shifina Babin Pakker. The film is slated for a theatrical release on November 6, 2026, aligning with the Diwali festival, and is expected to be a major event for Tamil cinema audiences.
