On September 10, 2026, Tamil audiences witnessed the theatrical debut of the sports‑action drama Mandaadi, a film that blends traditional sailboat racing with a gripping rivalry on the water. Directed and written by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, the story follows the fierce competition between teams led by Kaali and Saattaappuli, with the race itself serving as the central conflict that drives the characters’ personal stakes.
Soori headlines the cast as the titular hero, while newcomer Suhas makes his Tamil film debut. Mahima Nambiar also features prominently, and the ensemble includes Sathyaraj, Mithun Jai Sankar, Ravindravjay, Bala Saravanan, and Stun Siva, among others. The production, under the banner of RS Infotainment, was led by producer Elred Kumar with V. Manikandan as co‑producer, and additional writing credits were shared with R. Mohanavasanthan and Thiral Sankar.
The film’s technical team boasts cinematographer S. R. Kathir, editor Pradeep E. Ragav, and music composer G. V. Prakash Kumar. Stunt choreography was handled by Peter Hein, Dhilip Subbarayan, and Mahesh Mathew, while D. R. K. Kiran served as production designer. Sound design, VFX, costumes, and other production departments contributed to the final theatrical presentation.
Although Mandaadi has just begun its run in cinemas, Netflix has secured the film’s OTT rights and is expected to stream the movie after the theatrical window closes. No official release date on the streaming platform has been announced yet, so viewers who wish to watch the film at home should keep an eye on Netflix for future updates.
