The two attended St. Columba’s School in Delhi, where Shah Rukh was a senior to Palash. Sen recalled how the actor was not only a favourite among students but also enjoyed the admiration of teachers, who reportedly liked him more than anyone else in the school.
Sen described Shah Rukh as “charming, ambitious, and efficient,” noting that the actor’s charisma was evident even in the classroom. He added that the two were close friends, and that Shah Rukh’s presence made school life more enjoyable. When asked about any shortcomings, Sen humorously pointed out that Shah Rukh could not sing, a flaw that led Palash to perform songs for him during school plays.
According to Sen, Shah Rukh’s singing limitations were evident during a school production of “The Whiz,” where the actor acted while Palash sang from backstage. Sen joked that he was “singing for Shah Rukh way before Sonu Nigam.” The two have remained friends into adulthood, with Sen expressing pride in Shah Rukh’s achievements and a willingness to meet whenever possible.
Beyond their school years, Palash Sen has built a career as a singer, songwriter, composer, actor, and filmmaker. He has contributed to Bollywood soundtracks, including songs for films such as Filhaal…, Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge, Lamhaa, Mu (the text cuts). In contrast, Shah Rukh Khan continues to be a dominant force in Indian cinema, with his upcoming film King—directed by Siddharth Anand and starring Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Suhana Khan, Raghav Juyal, Arshad Warsi, and Jaideep Ahlawat—scheduled for release on December 24.
