Cinema VinesNetflix has released the trailer for its upcoming mystery thriller “Shaque: Trust No One,” which promises a layered narrative centered on a mother’s relentless nine‑year quest to locate her missing child. The series, set to premiere on September 24, marks Parineeti Chopra’s debut in a leading role on the streaming platform.
At the heart of the story is a mother who refuses to abandon hope, driven by an instinct that her child is still alive. As her search unfolds, she uncovers a truth that seems to have been concealed in plain sight, forcing her to question not only what she knows but also whether she can trust those closest to her. The plot thickens as the mystery deepens, revealing that the secrets she seeks may be intertwined with the people she once believed she could rely on.
The series is the brainchild of creators Rensil D’Silva and Siddharth P. Malhotra, with D’Silva also directing. Production is handled by Sapna Malhotra and Siddharth P. Malhotra under the banner of Alchemy Filmz. In addition to Chopra, the ensemble cast includes Jennifer Winget, Soni Razdan, Anup Soni, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Harleen Sethi, Sumeet Vyas and Dhruv Chowdhary.
Chopra described the role as “unlike anything I’ve done before,” emphasizing the emotional core of a mother’s instinct and her refusal to give up. She said, “As a mother myself, I found the emotional core of this story deeply personal. There is an instinct that comes with motherhood—you would do absolutely anything for your child, and that instinct to protect them, find them and never stop fighting for them is something I connected with deeply.” She added that the series offers a “layered story” that challenges everything she believes about the people around her.
Winget highlighted the ambiguity of the characters, noting that “nothing is simply black or white, and everyone carries a history, a motive and a secret that gradually reveals another layer to the story.” She praised the emotional relationships at the core of the suspense, stating, “Working with Rensil, Siddharth and this incredible ensemble, and bringing this story to Netflix, was an exciting opportunity to explore a character and a world that constantly keeps you questioning what is real and whom you can trust.”
Soni Razdan echoed this sentiment, saying the show “deeply roots the mystery in human relationships” and that it explores “trust, suspicion and the secrets people carry.” The trailer hints at a complex web of motives and hidden truths that will keep viewers guessing until the final episode.
