Actor Ajay Devgn, who reprises his role as Vijay Salgaonkar, has clarified that the new instalment is not a direct copy of the original Malayalam version. During a promotional event, Devgn explained that the Hindi film has undergone significant changes and features an entirely different screenplay, urging audiences to treat it as a separate work rather than a mere replica.
Devgn also expressed a desire for Mohanlal, who portrayed Georgekutty in the Malayalam series, to view the Hindi film and share his thoughts. He said he would welcome Mohanlal’s approval and hoped that the Malayalam team would also watch and evaluate the new version. The actor emphasized that “Drishyam 3” is not simply a continuation created for the sake of extending the franchise; it was developed only after a strong narrative justification emerged.
The story of “Drishyam 3” is written and directed by Abhishek Pathak, with Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parvez Sheikh contributing to the screenplay. In addition to Devgn, the cast includes Tabu, Shriya Saran, Prakash Raj, and Jaideep Ahlawat. The film’s cinematography is handled by Sudhir Kumar Chaudhary, while music is composed by Ravi Basrur, Rochak Kohli, and Karm.
Hints that “Drishyam 3” could be Vijay Salgaonkar’s final chapter appear in the promotional material, suggesting that the film may close the character’s arc. Despite the new storyline, Devgn maintains that the film is a standalone narrative packed with twists and surprises, distinct from its Malayalam predecessor.
