Tamannaah Bhatia & Sidharth Malhotra bring Chhath to Bollywood; Vvaan releases devotional track

In a fresh move that blends faith with cinema, actors Tamannaah Bhatia and Sidharth Malhotra will share the screen in the upcoming film The Vvaan: Force of the Forest. On Thursday, the film’s makers released a new devotional track titled “Chhathi Maiya,” which showcases Bhatia’s character placing her belief above all else and seeking the blessings of the goddess during a personal crisis.

The 3‑minute‑30‑second music video follows Bhatia’s character as she prepares for Chhath Puja, a traditional festival celebrated in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. While Malhotra’s character questions her faith, Bhatia remains steadfast, performing the rituals alongside other women. The clip ends with an accident that the couple witnesses a miracle, restoring their faith and underscoring the song’s spiritual theme.

Lyrics were written by Kaushal Kishore, choreography was handled by Chinni Prakash, and the track was produced by Vishal Mishra and Kandarpa Kalita. In an interview, Bhatia described the project as a “humble attempt to bring Bihari pride on the big screen,” adding that it feels surreal to bring the festival to Hindi cinema for the first time.

Vishal Mishra, the singer and composer, expressed that it is an honour to showcase Chhath’s sacred tradition in Bollywood, hoping the cultural beauty reaches every corner of the world and receives the respect it deserves.

Beyond the devotional number, The Vvaan is a fantasy mystery thriller that also stars Sunil Grover, Maniesh Paul, Shweta Tiwari and Anup Soni. The film is directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari under Balaji Motion Pictures. It is slated to hit theatres on September 25, 2026.
