Indian playback singer Kailash Kher has turned a quick profit on a commercial property in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), selling a 2,619‑sq‑ft office unit for ₹10.75 crore after buying it a year earlier for ₹10.50 crore. The transaction, recorded on September 9, 2026, was completed with Lakewater Retail Private Limited and included a car parking space on the seventh floor of the Trade Centre opposite the MTNL Building in Bandra East.
Although the headline difference between purchase and sale prices is ₹25 lakh, the actual gain is lower once stamp duty, registration fees, taxes and other costs are deducted. The sale price represents a 2.4% appreciation over the original purchase price before expenses. Kher’s net profit from the deal remains undisclosed, as the singer and the buyer were not reached for comment.
The Trade Centre, a ten‑story commercial building developed by Wadhwa Constructions, received partial occupancy certificates in 2008 and has long been a sought‑after address for corporate tenants. BKC itself is one of India’s most expensive office markets, attracting high‑profile investors, including Bollywood actors and film personalities.
In 2024, fellow actor‑turned‑real‑estate investor R. Madhavan bought a residential property in BKC for ₹17.5 crore, underscoring the area’s appeal to celebrities. The new Kher transaction highlights how even short‑term holdings in prime locations can yield modest gains, especially when the market remains buoyant.
