The Kerala star, who first met the Thiruvananthapuram‑born bride while he was a VJ, said the split was final and that he has been living with his parents ever since. Bhasi shared the details on the YouTube channel FTQ with Rekha Menon while promoting his upcoming film Avarachan and Sons.
During the interview, Bhasi recounted the emotional toll of the separation. He admitted to having heated arguments with his father, at times telling him that their home could no longer be shared and that things would not work out. Those moments, he said, made him realise how hard it is to be away from his parents. He described the experience as extremely difficult and added that he is now trying to focus on living in the present.
To keep his parents engaged and to create a sense of normalcy, Bhasi bought them a koi fish and a dog. The actor explained that these small gestures helped fill the void left by the divorce and allowed him to maintain a close relationship with his family.
Bhasi and Reetu Zachariah had been friends for ten years before tying the knot in 2016. The couple’s marriage was built on a decade of friendship that began when Bhasi was hosting television programmes as a VJ. Despite the long history, the pair ultimately decided to part ways, a decision that the actor now regards as final.
