Cinema VinesGulshan Devaiah and Rasika Dugal headline the upcoming family‑friendly feature Little Thomas, which is set to hit Indian cinemas on October 23. The film is a joint production of Luminoso Pictures, Civic Studios, Good Bad Films, Flip Films and Anurag Kashyap, and is directed by Kaushal Oza.
At its centre is the spirited child actor Hridansh Parekh, who plays the title role. The story takes place in 1990s Goa and follows Thomas, the only child in his family, who is desperate for a younger brother. According to the synopsis, when Thomas learns that his parents must kiss to bring a baby into the family, he takes it upon himself to force the couple to perform the “yucky act” in order to fulfill his wish.
“It is a film that stays true to its story without any unnecessary frills,” Rasika Dugal told reporters. “There are very few films made for children these days that do not talk down to them. I feel Little Thomas fills that gap in a lovely way – it’s a children’s film, but one that adults can enjoy just as much.”
Director Kaushal Oza added that the shoot was a joy, thanks to the enthusiasm of the young cast. “The kids brought infectious energy to the set, and their chemistry shows on screen. Thomas will make you smile, laugh, and even shed a tear or two,” he said.
Producer Ranjan Singh described the film as a reminder of why filmmakers create stories. “It’s an innocent and fun tale of a boy’s adventure to answer his one question. In an era of fast cuts and adrenaline‑filled blockbusters, this simple, sweet film is something every family can watch together,” he remarked.
With Anurag Kashyap’s backing – his first venture into children’s cinema since the 2007 animated film Return of Hanuman – Little Thomas promises to offer a wholesome cinematic experience for viewers of all ages.
