Cinema VinesIn a shocking incident that has rattled the Bollywood community, the Mumbai residence of actress Ameesha Patel’s parents was targeted by a jewellery theft. Police reports say that valuable items worth approximately five lakh rupees went missing from the Churchgate‑area home. The case came to light after Asha Patel, the actress’s mother, approached the Marine Drive police with a formal complaint.
Investigators traced the crime to Seema Ghate, a 40‑year‑old domestic worker from Palghar who had been employed at the Patel household for about eighteen months. According to the police, the first sign of trouble was a stolen bangle in January 2026. Asha Patel suspected Ghate of the theft and repeatedly asked her to confess and return the jewellery over a period of five to six months, but the bangle was never recovered.
When the woman failed to comply, the Marine Drive police registered a case under Section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against an unidentified woman. A crime detection team later located Ghate in Virar, where she was detained and arrested. She was produced before a court and is currently held in police custody until September 15, while the investigation into the missing items continues.
Police are actively searching for the stolen jewellery, and authorities are also checking whether Ghate has any prior criminal record. The case remains under active investigation as the police work to recover the missing pieces and determine the full extent of the theft.

She first appeared in the 2000 hit “Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai,” and has since starred in films such as “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,” “Humraaz,” “Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.,” “Bhool Bhulaiyaa,” and “Race 2.” In 2023, she reprised her role in “Gadar 2,” her highest‑grossing release, and most recently appeared in the 2024 film “Tauba Tera Jalwa” directed by Akashaditya Lama.
