Marvel’s latest theatrical event, Avengers Endgame Encore, is generating a storm of anticipation across India. The re‑release, which debuted on September 25, offers a slightly trimmed version of the 2019 blockbuster Avengers: Endgame, the film that grossed more than $2.7 billion worldwide and earned over ₹400 crore in India. Fans can now watch the epic in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, with a special bonus of four minutes of new footage, a fresh post‑credits scene, and a sneak preview of the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.
Advance bookings opened earlier this month, and within just 24 hours the film has already sold 7300 tickets on BookMyShow, according to the latest data from Sacnilk. The platform also recorded more than 155,000 expressed interests for the film, signalling a strong demand ahead of its theatrical debut. Industry insiders predict a double‑digit opening, with expectations of earning over ₹10 crore net on the first day, which would set a new record for the biggest re‑release opening in India.
The re‑release is part of a larger promotional push that includes a teaser for Avengers: Doomsday, the next big MCU tentpole. Directed by the Russo brothers, the film will bring together characters from multiple universes, including Earth‑616 and Earth‑828, to battle a threat capable of destroying the multiverse. The teaser, unveiled during the D23: The Ultimate Disney fan event, featured Robert Downey Jr. as Victor Von Doom and highlighted a showdown between Doom and Chris Hemsworth’s Thor.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for a December 18 release, coinciding with Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three. The announcement of the new villain and the inter‑universal conflict has fans buzzing, as the story is set 14 months after the events of Thunderbolts. With the re‑release of Endgame Encore already showing strong ticket sales, Marvel’s strategy to reignite interest in its 2019 hit appears to be paying off.
