Cinema VinesSardar 2, the Tamil spy‑action sequel starring Karthi in a dual role, has continued its theatrical run with a modest dip on its first Saturday, September 12. The film, which opened on September 10, saw its India net earnings fall to an estimated ₹2.20 crore on Day 3, down from ₹2.45 crore on Friday – a decline of roughly 10.2 percent.
After three days of release, the movie’s India net total stands at about ₹9.15 crore, while the gross in the domestic market has reached ₹10.75 crore. Overseas collections added another ₹1 crore on Saturday, bringing the worldwide gross to approximately ₹14.25 crore. The overseas tally now sits at around ₹3.50 crore.
Tracking data from Sacnilk shows a reduction in the number of shows over the first three days: 3,950 shows on opening day, 3,361 on Friday, and 3,035 on Saturday. Overall occupancy improved slightly to 21 percent on Day 3, up from 19.3 percent on Friday.
Breaking down the domestic earnings by language, the Tamil version earned ₹1.50 crore net from 2,014 shows at 22 percent occupancy, while the Telugu version added about ₹70 lakh net from 1,021 shows at 19 percent occupancy. The Tamil release remains ahead in net collections.
Sardar 2 opened with a strong ₹4.50 crore net on its first day, but the second‑day haul dropped to ₹2.45 crore before falling further to ₹2.20 crore on Saturday. Thus, the opening‑day figure remains the highest single‑day India net collection to date.
