Yet Siddiqui chose not to sign any of them, deciding instead to wait for a role that truly resonated with him. He explained that he was already accustomed to periods of waiting in his career and preferred to hold out for the right part rather than rush into a project that didn’t feel right.
Despite the abundance of offers, Siddiqui’s patience paid off. He soon secured work that matched his artistic standards, continuing to build a reputation for nuanced performances in both independent cinema and mainstream releases. His portrayal of Faizal Khan in Gangs of Wasseypur 2 remains a highlight of his career, showcasing a transformation from a laid‑back youth to a ruthless gangster amid personal loss and betrayal.
In recent years, Siddiqui has taken on diverse roles. He starred in Main Actor Nahin Hoon, which opened in cinemas on 8 May and received mixed to negative reviews, though his performance was praised. He is now set to appear in Tumbbad 2, a horror sequel that is being produced on a scale larger than the original 2018 film. The sequel’s production, announced by the Hindustan Times in March 2026, will feature a sprawling 7–8 acre set in Mumbai, with an entire city constructed for the first schedule. The film’s budget is reported to be around ₹100 crore, positioning it as one of the most expensive horror projects in Bollywood.
Production for Tumbbad 2 commenced on 7 April 2026 under director Adesh Prasad, with a planned theatrical release on 3 December 2027. Siddiqui’s involvement in the project, alongside Alia Bhatt in a key role, has generated significant anticipation among fans and critics alike.
