Rahman with lyrics penned by Dr. Kumar Vishwas, features soulful vocals from Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal. The release, timed to coincide with the festival, offers audiences an early glimpse into the musical landscape that will accompany the film’s narrative.
Accompanying the audio drop was a striking motion poster that casts Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and actress Sai Pallavi as Sita. The poster, emblazoned with the words “Celebrating the timeless bond of Siya Ram,” underscores the central relationship the film intends to explore. The visual and the song together aim to evoke the devotional spirit that has long surrounded the Ramayana story.
Rahman explained that the challenge in “Jai Jai Ram” was to preserve the intimacy of a prayer while scaling it into a cinematic experience. He praised the singers for adding personal emotion to Vishwas’s simple yet profound lyrics, noting that the repetition of “Shri Ram” remains at the heart of the piece. “I hope audiences find both a sense of peace and a personal connection in it,” Rahman said.
Vishwas, in turn, highlighted the power of the song’s three-word mantra. He said the focus was not on describing the deity but on expressing the devotee’s relationship with him—as guide, strength, and refuge. “The language has been kept simple and direct because true devotion needs no ornamentation,” he added, hoping listeners will discover their own prayer within the composition.
Producer Namit Malhotra chose Ganesh Chaturthi for the launch, explaining that the festival’s themes of gratitude and new beginnings align with the film’s message. He said the song reflects the “deeply personal and timeless relationship” people share with Shri Ram, a bond that the film will further illuminate.
Looking ahead, the team has plans for additional musical releases. Rahman and renowned composer Hans Zimmer are set to collaborate on a special musical evening in London, promising more immersive soundscapes for the epic’s upcoming installments.
