Vishal Chaturvedi Sets His Sights on Tulsidas; New Film ‘RamBola’ Revealed

Vishal Chaturvedi, the writer‑director behind the recent hit Hanuman Ansh, has announced his next project: a biographical film on the 16th‑century saint and poet Goswami Tulsidas. The new venture, titled RamBola, will be produced by Mahaveer Jain Films and is slated for release on September 18.

In a joint Instagram post, Mahaveer Jain Films revealed the film’s details, crediting Chaturvedi as both writer and director. The caption read, “With Bappa’s Blessings, on this auspicious day, with humility and gratitude we bring to you ‘RamBola’. The Immortal story of Goswami Tulsidas. Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi. Produced by Mahaveer Jain, Vishal Chaturvedi, Amit Upadhyay & Raghuvendra Singh. Presented by Mahaveer Jain Films.”

Chaturvedi’s previous work, Hanuman Ansh, which premiered on August 4, has become a surprise box‑office success. The modestly budgeted film, based on the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, collected only a few lakhs per day in its opening week but eventually crossed the ₹200 crore mark in India. It is now set to release in Telugu on September 18, following its successful run in Hindi.

While Hanuman Ansh focuses on the saint’s message of humility and spiritual devotion, RamBola will chronicle Tulsidas’s life and his role in popularising the Ramayana through the Ramcharitmanas, written in the Awadhi dialect. The film promises to explore Tulsidas’s legacy as a revered Vaishnava saint and poet.

Mahaveer Jain Films has highlighted the project’s spiritual significance, noting that the story of Tulsidas is “immortal.” The production team, including producers Vishal Chaturvedi, Amit Upadhyay, and Raghuvendra Singh, aims to bring this legendary narrative to contemporary audiences, building on the success of Chaturvedi’s earlier biopic.
