Vishal Chaturvedi’s devotional drama Hanuman Ansh, which chronicles the life of spiritual leader Neem Karoli Baba, has already crossed the ₹200 crore mark in India. The film, released in theatres on August 7, began with a quiet opening but gained momentum through positive word‑of‑mouth, turning it into one of the biggest hits of the year.
Now the movie is set to reach Telugu‑speaking audiences with a localized version. Renowned filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas will present the Telugu adaptation, and his wife’s production house, Fortune Four Cinemas, confirmed the release on X. In the original, Chaturvedi writes and directs, drawing on his background as a doctor to depict the journey of Lakshman Das from age 13 to becoming the revered Neem Karoli Baba. The cast includes Shobhinaw Satyaa, Chandan Anand, Purnima Tiwari and Vihaan Shedge. Produced on a modest ₹2 crore budget by Swambhu Media Network Pvt. Ltd. and other partners, the film has now earned over ₹200 crore net and is projected to surpass ₹250 crore by the end of the week.
The film’s success has attracted praise from Bollywood stars such as Varun Dhawan, who urged fans to watch it with their families, and actresses Preity Zinta, Kangana Ranaut, along with director Madhur Bhandarkar. Their endorsements have helped amplify the film’s reach beyond its initial theatrical run.
