Himesh Reshammiya reunites with Vikram Bhatt after 13 years; Sunny Deol returns to his music partner after 19

Himesh Reshammiya has re‑joined forces with filmmaker Vikram Bhatt after a 13‑year hiatus to score the director’s upcoming horror feature, 1920: Cold Winter. Sources told Bollywood Hungama that Bhatt, who is known for pairing jump‑scares with memorable soundtracks, wanted the music to stand out and thus approached Reshammiya, who was delighted to collaborate again. The composer signed the contract and is set to deliver the film’s score.

In addition, Reshammiya will be back in the music department for the action‑drama Suryaa – One Man Against The System, starring Sunny Deol. The film, a remake of the 2018 Malayalam hit Joseph and directed by M Padmakumar, follows a retired cop who takes on an organ‑harvesting syndicate. This marks the third time the composer and Deol have worked together; their earlier collaborations were Fool & Final (2007) and Apne (2007), both released 19 years ago.

Reshammiya’s music label, Himesh Reshammiya Melodies, has secured the rights to the soundtracks of both 1920: Cold Winter and Suryaa. The label will also handle music releases for other projects the composer is scoring, including Emraan Hashmi’s Gunmaaster G9, Ayushmann Khurrana’s Yeh Prem Mol Liya, and Anil Sharma’s Arjun Naga.

Filming for 1920: Cold Winter will take place in Mussoorie during the winter months, a change from Bhatt’s usual Ooty locations. The movie follows the fifth collaboration between Bhatt and Reshammiya, after earlier joint efforts on Footpath (2003), Fear (2007), Red: The Dark Side (2007), and Dangerous Ishhq (2012). The male lead, Ahan Shetty, and actress Anya Singh, who also appears in this year’s war film Border 2, will star in the horror tale produced by Anand Pandit.
