Kareena Kapoor tightens the tech reins on her sons; she literally snatches phones

Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor has revealed that she is the stricter parent in her family, especially when it comes to her two sons, Taimur and Jeh. In a candid interview with SCREEN, the actress explained how she keeps the boys away from phones and limits their digital exposure, saying she is “hyper” about screen time and often has to snatch devices from them when they play games for too long.

Kapoor admitted that her sons do not have personal phones; even Taimur’s nanny’s phone is claimed by the boy as his own, only to be denied by his mother. “I said, ‘It’s not your phone,’” she recounted. The boy tried to convince her that he could tell his friends it was his phone, but she refused. When the boys play games all day, the actress said she literally has to snatch the phones from their hands.

She added that Saif Ali Khan, her husband, feels she is too strict and should relax. “I tell him I need to be hyper about this,” Kapoor said, noting that this is the only point of disagreement between them. She wants to keep her children as “small” as possible, free from excessive digital influence. The actress also expressed concern about the impact of artificial intelligence on her children, describing herself as paranoid about certain aspects of the technology and calling for a balanced approach that limits harmful uses while embracing benefits.

Outside of parenting, Kapoor is preparing for her next film, Daayra, directed by Meghna Gulzar. The movie, which also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, sees the pair playing police officers in a story inspired by true events. Co‑written by Gulzar, Yash Keswani and Sima Agarwal, the film is produced by Junglee Pictures and Dr. Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Studios and is set for a theatrical release on September 18, where it will compete with Kunal Kemmu’s Vibe. The comedy‑spy also features Preity Zinta and Sparsh Srivastava in leading roles.
