The film opened on Thursday, September 10, with a strong ₹4.50 crore net, but the following days saw a steady decline: ₹2.45 crore on Friday, ₹2.20 crore on Saturday, and a modest rebound to ₹2.45 crore on Sunday. Monday’s drop to ₹1.50 crore represented a 38.8% fall from the previous day.
With five days completed, the sequel has earned a net total of ₹13.10 crore in India and an approximate gross of ₹15.35 crore. Overseas collections have also contributed, with an estimated ₹0.25 crore on Monday and a cumulative overseas gross of ₹4.50 crore, bringing the worldwide total to roughly ₹19.85 crore.
According to Sacnilk, Monday’s run saw an occupancy of about 19.7% across 2,473 tracked shows. The Tamil version of the film contributed about ₹1.10 crore net, while the Telugu version added roughly ₹0.40 crore.
"Sardar 2" is the sequel to the 2022 Tamil hit "Sardar" and is directed by P. S. Mithran. Karthi reprises his dual role from the first film, joined by Rajisha Vijayan who also returns. The cast also features S. J. Suryah, Malavika Mohanan and Ashika Ranganath. The story continues in the espionage‑action genre, built around new spy adventures.
The film is produced by S. Lakshman Kumar and Ishan Saksena, with A. Venkatesh as co‑producer, under the banners of Prince Pictures and IVY Entertainment. Music and background score are handled by Sam C. S., marking his 100th film. Cinematography is by George C. Williams, editing by Vijay Velukutty, and stunts by Dhilip Subbarayan and Chethan D'souza.
