Veteran actress Soni Razdan recently told News18 that parents of today are far more patient and involved than those of her own generation. She reflected on how the role of a father has evolved, saying that in the past, parenting responsibilities were often left to women and were not seen as a virtue. Razdan praised her son‑in‑law, Ranbir Kapoor, for being a “wonderful dad” to Alia Bhatt’s daughter, Raha, and noted how he rushes home after shoots to spend time with his little girl.
According to Razdan, “I’m sometimes gobsmacked when I see the way fathers are. Anshuman, what a wonderful dad he is. My son‑in‑law, what a wonderful father he is.” She added that Kapoor’s support for Alia and his dedication to their daughter has changed him, a change Alia herself has spoken about in interviews. The couple married in 2022 and welcomed Raha the same year, and the actor has become more present in her life, balancing his film work with family time.
While Kapoor prepares for the release of his upcoming epic “Ramayana,” directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, Yash, Ravie Dubey, Lara Dutta and Rakul Preet Singh, Razdan is looking forward to her new Netflix series “Shaque.” The show, helmed by Rensil D’Silva, features Parineeti Chopra, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Anup Soni and Jennifer Winget, and is set to premiere on September 24, marking Chopra’s series debut after motherhood.
Both actors are set to hit the screens this year: Kapoor’s “Ramayana” is scheduled for a Diwali release, with a second part slated for Diwali 2027, while Razdan’s “Shaque” will debut on Netflix in late September. Their projects showcase not only their professional versatility but also the evolving dynamics of modern Indian families, as highlighted by Razdan’s comments on parenting today.
