Cinema VinesBrandi Glanville, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, revealed in a tearful episode of her podcast “Unfiltered” that she has been fighting a severe medical condition for more than two years, a battle that has left her with facial disfigurement and a mounting debt of over $113,000 in treatment costs.
In a candid admission on September 11, the 53‑year‑old explained that her doctors originally thought she had a parasite, but later identified a complex infection that includes highly resistant ESBL Klebsiella and Enterobacter with biofilm, Coccidioidomycosis (Valley Fever), Demodex dermatitis and Mononucleosis. She described the weekly outlay for medication as $7,000, even with insurance, and the constant pressure from creditors.
Faced with the risk of losing her medication and making no progress, Glanville’s friend Gina launched a GoFundMe page to help cover her medical bills. Although initially hesitant, Brandi admitted she felt “embarrassed” and “spent” but ultimately agreed to accept the help, saying she “didn’t want anyone to see it.”
Her podcast co‑host James Maas urged listeners not to view the fundraiser as a source of shame. He criticized the medical system for allowing patients with insurance to be burdened with such high costs and emphasized that seeking help is not embarrassing. He added that the GoFundMe was a necessary lifeline and that Brandi is “the most giving person” who has always refused assistance before.
Glanville also shared that her condition prevents her from working, leaving her feeling “like a loser” and at “rock bottom.” She expressed gratitude toward Gina for stepping in and promised to keep her friend informed of her progress.
The fundraiser has attracted donations from fellow Reality Stars, with TMZ reporting that Kyle Richards contributed $500, while Claudia Jordan and James Maas each donated $100. The campaign also noted that doctors have found a fungal ball in Brandi’s face that requires removal.
