Malayalam mystery family drama "Aasha" has continued to perform strongly in Kerala, amassing a total of ₹2.37 crore over its first four days of release. The film opened on September 11 and, according to industry tracker AB George, pulled in ₹28 lakh on its opening Friday, followed by ₹65 lakh on Saturday and ₹93 lakh on Sunday. Monday’s earnings were reported at ₹51 lakh, roughly 78% of Saturday’s figure, keeping the film’s momentum steady even as the weekday collection dipped.
Directed by Safar Sanal, "Aasha" weaves a tale of how a single decision can ripple through multiple lives, bringing together a diverse group of characters. The cast includes Urvashi, Joju George, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Vijayaraghavan in leading roles, with a supporting ensemble featuring Ramesh Girija, Ajayan Adat, Prashanth Alexander, Joy Mathew, Shari, Amrutha Krishnakumar, Fehmin, Bhagyalakshmi, Kottayam Ramesh, Vishakh Vithura, Abdul Kalam and Prashanth Madhavan.
Behind the scenes, Joju George, Ramesh Girija and Safar Sanal contributed as writers, while Safar Sanal also handled direction. Producer Vinayaka Ajith oversaw the project, with Madhu Neelakandan as cinematographer and Shan Mohammed editing the film. Ajayan Adat managed sound design and sync sound, and Vivek Kalthil served as production designer. Makeup and costume responsibilities were split between Shameer Sham and Sujith CS, respectively.
The technical crew also included chief associate director Ratheesh Pillai, production controller Shabeer Malavattath, stunt master Dinesh Subbarayan, associate directors Jijo Jose and Febin M Sunny, colourist Srik Varier, VFX by Meraki, and DI work handled by Color Planet Studios. With Day 5 underway on Tuesday, the film’s performance over the opening week will be closely watched to gauge its overall commercial trajectory.
