In a cinematic turn of events, the low‑budget film Hanuman Ansh has shattered expectations, amassing over ₹200 crore at the Indian box office after a modest ₹2 crore launch. The movie opened to a meager ₹10 lakh but has been collecting crores daily, buoyed by a viral soundtrack that has seen thousands of reels on social media platforms.
Music composer Dhirendra Mulkalwar, who crafted the film’s score in just five minutes after meditating on Baba Neem Karoli, attributes the film’s meteoric rise to divine inspiration. “It feels like a miracle,” Mulkalwar told the Hindustan Times. “We’re still processing it and see it as a blessing from Babji.” He recalled how the crew, facing budget constraints, began each shoot with a Hanuman Chalisa and aarti, which he says helped resolve problems almost instantly.
Mulkalwar spent nearly two months developing the first theme before a sudden burst of creativity brought the tune to life. He noted that similar moments occurred throughout production, with ideas surfacing whenever the team felt stuck. The composer also highlighted the role of social media, saying that after the second week, “Vishal and the entire team travelled from city to city in their cars, from Mumbai to Surat and then to Delhi, to promote the film,” and that online reactions—tears, praise, and shares—spurred the upward trend in collections and screen counts.
During a candid interview, Mulkalwar reflected on his earlier career struggles, mentioning that major studios had once rejected him. Now, following the success of Hanuman Ansh, those same studios are reaching out with offers, turning past rejections into new opportunities. He praised friends’ feedback, including singer Shantanu Sudame’s description of the music as “adbhut,” and emphasized the sense of divinity felt by all who heard it.
With its unprecedented box‑office performance and a soundtrack that has taken the internet by storm, Hanuman Ansh exemplifies how faith, creativity, and digital virality can converge to create a blockbuster from humble beginnings.
