Cinema VinesJitendra Kumar, the face behind the beloved “Jeetu Bhaiya” of TVF’s early YouTube sketches, has charted a remarkable path from the halls of IIT Kharagpur to the silver screen, starring in the ₹270‑crore hit Mirzapur: The Movie. Born in Khairthal, a small town in Rajasthan, he was a bright student who earned a place at the prestigious IIT. While at Kharagpur, Jitendra immersed himself in theatre, joining the Hindi Technology Dramatics Society and honing his craft on campus stages.
It was during this period that he met Biswapati Sarkar, who would later become an Executive Creative Director and writer at The Viral Fever (TVF). Recognising Jitendra’s natural talent, Sarkar invited him to join TVF in 2012. After graduation, the aspiring actor moved to Mumbai and shot his first short‑form video with the company. The debut clip failed to attract even 10,000 views, leading Jitendra to take a detour into the corporate world.
He accepted a high‑paying position in Bengaluru, working there for nine months. While trapped in a joyless corporate job, a call from Biswapati informed him that his second TVF video, “Munna Jazbaati: The Q‑tiya Intern,” had gone viral, amassing over three million views in 2013. The unexpected success prompted Jitendra to quit his corporate role and return to acting full time.
Back in Mumbai, he became a regular on TVF’s popular sketches such as “Tech Conversations With Dad,” “A Day With,” and “TVF Bachelors,” earning a reputation for portraying relatable, slightly confused everyday Indian characters that resonated with audiences. His breakout as “Jeetu Bhaiya” solidified his status as a leading figure in India’s digital‑streaming boom.
In 2023, Jitendra made his film debut as Bablu Pandit in Mirzapur: The Movie, a role that showcased his versatility and brought him mainstream recognition. The film’s commercial success, grossing ₹270 crore, marked a significant milestone in his career, proving that talent and perseverance can pave the way for outsiders in Bollywood without relying on family connections.
