Mirzapur: The Movie has become one of the most talked‑about releases of the year, turning heads with a run that has already earned it close to ₹200 crore. The gangster‑action thriller, a spin‑off from the hit streaming series, brings back the familiar faces of Divyenndu, Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit, while also reuniting Rasika Dugal, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Shweta Tripathi and Abhishek Banerjee in their original roles. New additions to the cast include Jitendra Kumar, Ravi Kishan and Sonal Chauhan, adding fresh dynamics to the already tense storyline set in 2018.
Pre‑release buzz had trade analysts predicting an opening haul between ₹18 and ₹20 crore. The film, however, shattered those expectations by taking in ₹25.75 crore on its first day, surpassing earlier hits such as Saiyaara and Awarapan 2. The weekend tally peaked with a Sunday collection of ₹36 crore, the highest single‑day figure for the film. By the end of the first week, Mirzapur: The Movie had amassed ₹148.45 crore, cementing its status as a box‑office juggernaut.
Week two began strongly, with the film earning ₹9.50 crore on its opening day. Despite a double‑digit weekend, the momentum began to wane from the second Monday, when collections dipped to ₹5.5 crore. A subsequent drop saw the film pull in only ₹4.18 crore, its lowest figure to date. As of the latest update, the total gross stands at ₹194.38 crore, with expectations that it will cross the ₹200 crore threshold by the end of the week.
Mirzapur: The Movie, directed by Gurmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna, is a joint venture between Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment. It is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, with co‑production credits to Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani. The film extends the Mirzapur universe, which began as a 2018 streaming series and grew into one of India’s most successful OTT franchises over its three‑season run.
