The announcement, posted on his X account, comes as the artist’s 10‑year sentence, handed down in August 2023 for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, continues to loom over him.
The tour is not a traditional concert series. According to Complex, the events are billed as “listening experiences” featuring Lanez’s music and unnamed guests, with the rapper himself unable to perform live because he is still incarcerated. The first stop is slated for September 25 at HK Hall in New York, and the run will wrap up on November 13 at Avalon Social in Pittsburgh, with intermediate dates in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and New Orleans.
Lanez’s legal status remains unchanged. He was convicted in December 2022 on three felony counts—assault with a semiautomatic firearm, discharging a firearm with gross negligence, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle—and is still pursuing appeals and other legal avenues. The tour announcement does not signal any imminent release or personal appearance; it simply brings his music to fans without requiring him to leave prison.
Despite his confinement, Lanez has kept up a steady stream of releases. In July he dropped the double album MADE YOU THINK I WAS GONE… BUT, split between rap and R&B, and his 2025 album Peterson was recorded from inside the facility. The “Not On ‘Tor’ Tour” is a continuation of that strategy, allowing audiences to experience his work in a live setting while he remains behind bars.
