Taapsee Pannu’s latest action‑thriller, Gandhari, has shattered expectations on Netflix, racking up 9.6 million views in its second week of release. The figure, reported by Netflix’s official Tudum platform, is the highest single‑week viewership ever achieved by an Indian Netflix Original film. The surge follows a strong first week of 5.9 million, which had the movie positioned at No. 3 on the platform’s global non‑English film chart.
When the second‑week numbers were released, Gandhari not only climbed to the top spot worldwide but also saw its weekly audience grow by more than 60 percent. The 9.6 million viewers outpaced the 6.4 million second‑week count of Jaane Jaan and eclipsed the combined viewership of Darlings across both its first and second weeks. Even non‑Netflix Original titles fell behind; Dhurandhar had 7.6 million views in week one and 8.2 million in week two, yet Gandhari surpassed both.
These numbers cement Gandhari as one of the biggest Indian film performances on Netflix in 2026. With the latest figures, Taapsee Pannu’s film joins the ranks of the platform’s most‑watched Indian titles of the year, showcasing the growing appeal of domestic action thrillers on global streaming services.
In a recent interview, Pannu expressed her excitement, saying, “I could hardly sleep for the last few nights… I’m really overwhelmed.” Her remarks come as the film climbs to No. 2 among Indian Netflix originals, following its strong debut with 5.9 million views.
