In a surprising turn of events, the low‑budget devotional film Hanuman Ansh has crossed the ₹300 crore mark at the global box office, becoming the biggest earner of the year in India. The film, which began its run with a modest ₹10 lakh opening and barely ₹1.5 crore in the first fortnight, has now amassed a domestic net collection of ₹237 crore (₹280 crore gross) and a worldwide total of ₹300 crore after 41 days.
What makes the film’s performance remarkable is its sustained momentum. After a slow start, word‑of‑mouth sparked a surge, and from its fourth week onward the movie has been pulling in more than ₹60 crore net each week at the Indian box office. On the 41st day, it added an additional ₹6 crore net in India alone, pushing it to the fourth spot on the year’s domestic earnings list, behind only Dhurandhar 2, Border 2, and Spider‑Man: Brand New Day.
Internationally, the release arrived later after Hombale Films secured worldwide distribution rights. In the two weeks it has been screened overseas, the film has earned $2 million, contributing to its global haul. The overseas run has helped the film overtake the earnings of Mirzapur The Movie, outpacing it by nearly 50 per cent.
With a current tally that places it ninth on the 2026 all‑time Indian box‑office list, Hanuman Ansh is poised to climb into the top five, and possibly the top three, as other films in the ₹300–₹325 crore bracket finish their runs. It has already surpassed the lifetime earnings of Akshay Kumar’s recent hit Bhooth Bangla, which collected just over ₹250 crore worldwide.
The film was written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi and follows the journey of a grieving young man, Lakshminarayan, who, after his mother’s death, travels across North India in search of spiritual answers. He eventually transforms into the revered saint Neem Karoli Baba. The cast includes Shobhinaw Satyaa in the lead role, with Vihaan Shedge, Chandan K Anand, Purnima Tiwari, Anil Rastogi, Gulshan Pandey and Bhagvandas Patel supporting. The story’s blend of faith, introspection and a compelling performance has resonated with audiences, turning a modest project into a box‑office phenomenon.
