Cinema VinesNivin Pauly’s latest venture, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, has shattered the ₹300 crore threshold worldwide, marking the biggest commercial triumph of his career to date. Directed by Girish A D and featuring Mamitha Baiju alongside Pauly, the film crossed the ₹300 crore mark in just 24 days, surpassing Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra and becoming the second Malayalam film ever to reach that milestone.
The achievement is more than a box‑office record; it signals a renewed star power for Pauly after a series of lukewarm releases. The actor, once a household name for relatable, boy‑next‑door roles, had seen his box‑office pull questioned following a string of commercial setbacks. Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has reversed that narrative, positioning him back at the forefront of Malayalam cinema.
Pauly’s rise began with his debut in Malarvaadi Arts Club (2010) and was cemented by the 2012 hit Thattathin Marayathu. He then showcased his versatility with films such as Neram, 1983, Ohm Shanthi Oshaana, Bangalore Days and Oru Vadakkan Selfie. The 2015 blockbuster Premam expanded his appeal beyond Kerala, enjoying a long theatrical run and strong performance in Tamil Nadu.
Following Premam, Pauly sustained commercial success with titles like Action Hero Biju, Jacobinte Swargarajyam, Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela, Kayamkulam Kochunni and Love Action Drama. However, subsequent releases such as Moothon, Mahaveeryar, Padavettu, Saturday Night, Thuramukham, Ramachandra Boss & Co and Malayalee From India failed to replicate that success, prompting doubts about his commercial viability.
Before Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, Pauly had begun to rebuild his standing with the 2025 film Sarvam Maya, which crossed ₹150 crore worldwide. While a single hit can sometimes be an isolated comeback, the rapid ascent of Bethlehem Kudumba Unit underscores a genuine resurgence in his star value and box‑office appeal.
