Cinema VinesOn Monday, September 14, 2026, the makers of Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming epic “Ramayana” released the first track from the film, “Jai Jai Ram.” The song, composed by the legendary A.R. Rahman, features lyrics by Dr. Kumar Vishwas and is sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal. In the accompanying video, Ranbir Kapoor appears as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita, showcasing their on‑screen chemistry while the visuals weave through scenes from the film.
Rahman explained that the heart of the track lies in the simple, powerful repetition of Shri Ram’s name. He aimed to preserve the purity and intimacy of a prayer while allowing the composition to evolve into a cinematic piece. “Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal bring their own distinct emotional expression to Dr. Kumar Vishwas’s words, while always remaining true to the devotion at the centre of the song,” Rahman said in a statement.
Vishwas added that his goal was not to describe Shri Ram, whose essence cannot be contained in words, but to express the relationship every devotee shares with him—as a guide, a source of strength, and a refuge. He kept the language simple and direct, believing that true devotion needs no ornamentation.
“Ramayana” features a star‑studded cast that includes Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. The adapted screenplay is written by Sridhar Raghavan and Nitesh Tiwari, with dialogues by Shreyas Jain and Tiwari. Cinematography is handled by Pankaj Kumar and Mahesh Limaye.
The film is one of the most expensive Indian productions ever made, with a reported budget exceeding ₹4,000 crore. It is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in partnership with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The first part of the series is slated for theatrical release on Diwali 2026, with the second part scheduled for 2027.
