Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky name their daughter Rose Bean; music-inspired moniker unveiled

Pop icon Lady Gaga and her fiancé, tech entrepreneur Michael Polansky, have officially named their first child Rose Bean Polansky, a decision that has now been confirmed by a birth certificate obtained by TMZ. The couple’s journey into parenthood first became public on September 11, when they were photographed holding their newborn in Northern California. The certificate reveals that the baby girl was born via surrogate on June 9 at 11:19 p.m. at Cedars‑Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.

The choice of name carries a clear musical lineage. “Rose” is said to be a nod to Édith Piaf’s classic “La Vie En Rose,” a song Gaga famously performed in the 2018 film A Star Is Born. The singer also sports a large rose tattoo that runs down her spine, a design she has linked to the same song. The middle name, “Bean,” appears to honor singer and LGBTQ+ activist Carl Bean, whose 1977 track “I Was Born This Way” inspired Gaga’s own 2011 single and album of the same title.

Gaga and Polansky first began dating in late 2019, revealed their relationship publicly in 2020, and announced their engagement in 2024. Despite the media’s interest, the pair have largely kept their private life out of the spotlight, and neither has commented publicly on the naming or birth details of their daughter.
