Cinema VinesNeelam Productions released a new teaser on September 18, 2026, offering a behind‑the‑scenes look at Pa Ranjith’s upcoming feature, Vettuvam. Titled “World of Vettuvam,” the video is narrated by Ranjith himself and opens with a statement that the film examines the destruction of ancient cultures, the ripple effects on the present, and how those impacts may shape future natural calamities. He explains that across three different time periods the story centers on a power struggle among humans, which will drive the film’s central conflict.
Ranjith goes on to clarify the meaning of the title: “Vettai (hunting) is when an animal is attacked or killed by a human for protection or food. Vettuvam is when animals or clans of humans fight each other to prove their power and strength over the other.” The narrative follows several clans vying for dominance, and the cast has undergone intensive training in ancient martial arts such as Adi Murai and Mal Kambh to portray the brutal combat.
The teaser introduces the main cast. Arya, known for his fitness and martial‑arts background, plays Dharmarajan. Shabeer Kallarakkal, who appeared as Dancing Rose in Ranjith’s Sarpatta Parambarai, takes on the role of Sembiyan. Kalaiyarasan, a frequent collaborator of Ranjith, portrays Veeravarman. Sobhita Dhulipala performs intense stunts as Radhi, while VR Dinesh, also called “Gethu” Dhinesh, plays Nandhan. Additional actors include Mime Gopi, Guru Somasundaram, John Vijay, Sai Dheena, Anand Saami, Harish Uthaman, Lizzy, Lingesh Prem Kumar, and Kavitha Bharathi.
Ranjith concludes the teaser with the question, “Will this destruction lead to new life?” as the footage cuts to breathtaking shots of the film’s action sequences. The score is composed by GV Prakash Kumar, cinematography is handled by Roopesh Shaji, and editing is done by Selva RK. Dhilip Subbarayan is the action choreographer, and SS Murthi serves as art director.
The project is produced by S Sai Devanand, S Sai Venkateswaran, and Ranjith under the Learn and Teach Production and Neelam Productions banners. Vettuvam is slated for a December release across Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada markets.
