Cinema VinesAjay Devgn is preparing for the highly anticipated Drishyam The Conclusion, which will hit Indian screens on October 2. The thriller marks the veteran actor’s second release of the year, following the blockbuster Dhamaal 4. While Devgn’s fans have been eager for his next project, the much‑anticipated jungle adventure tentatively titled Ranger has been pushed back to 2027.
According to reports from Bollywood Hungama, the film, which stars Devgn alongside Sanjay Dutt and Tamannaah Bhatia, was originally slated for a December 4 release. However, a source confirmed that the movie will now debut after Eid in March 2027, positioning it as a summer release that aligns with school and college holidays. The decision is expected to avoid a clash with Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan’s upcoming comedy, which is set to release on December 4.
In the meantime, December 4 will feature the comedy caper directed by Anees Bazmee, starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, and Raashii Khanna. This release will compete with Shraddha Kapoor’s Eetha, while another potential film, Prabhas’ period action drama Fauzi, may also enter the market on December 3—though trade insiders suggest it too could be postponed to 2027.
Details about Ranger reveal that Devgn will portray a forest officer tasked with protecting tigers, facing challenges from an ineffective team, corrupt superiors, and a gang of poachers led by Dutt. The climax was shot last month in Mumbai, and the makers plan a special dance sequence featuring Tamannaah and Devgn. The film is produced by Luv Ranjan and directed by Jagan Shakti.
In a January 2026 interview with Bollywood Hungama, producer Luv Ranjan expressed excitement over the collaboration: “Ajay sir and Sanju sir have worked together for 25 years, but this is their first action film together. It’s shocking and extremely exciting to see them on screen in this new genre.”
With Ranger delayed, Devgn will have only two releases in 2026, keeping fans eagerly awaiting his return to the silver screen next year.
