Cinema VinesSamay Raina’s comedy series India’s Got Latent dropped a fresh episode on YouTube and Netflix featuring a star‑packed lineup that included Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bhuvan Bam, Mukesh Chhabra and Kaustubh Agarwal. The episode, released late last week, saw Raina take the mic to roast Siddiqui over his upcoming role in the 2025 horror‑comedy Thamma, a film that marks the latest entry in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU).
During the show, Raina began by thanking Siddiqui for joining, then swiftly slipped into a playful jibe: “Nawaz sir, thank you so much for coming, yaar. I can’t believe you’re here. I love you so much, sir. I am really like starstruck right now. Love you, sir. Sir, Thamma kyun ki thi yaar? Thamma kyun banayi yaar aapne?” (Why did you star in Thamma? Why would you make Thamma?). Siddiqui, taken aback by the mention, laughed it off, replying, “Thamma? Haan theek hai. Ban gayi, ban gayi.” When Raina asked for permission to continue, the actor quipped, “Now that you’ve already said it, what can I say?” The banter continued with Raina praising Siddiqui’s earlier work in Sacred Games and joking that the actor had come prepared for the show, to which Siddiqui responded, “Yahan pe bhi waisi hi tayaari karke aya hoon mai.” (I came prepared here too).
Beyond the roast, Siddiqui noted that although he hasn’t watched the series, his daughter, Shora Siddiqui, does. The second season of India’s Got Latent has already featured guests such as Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Aashish Solanki, Vishal Dadlani, Raghu Ram, Orry, Archana Puran Singh and Rakhi Sawant, with a Netflix‑exclusive episode starring Varun Dhawan.
“Thamma” is the fifth film in the MHCU franchise, following Stree (2018), Bhediya (2022), Munjya (2024) and Stree 2 (2024). Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and written by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew and Arun Falara, the movie introduces a vampire into the horror universe and stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal. It earned ₹187.59 crore worldwide and received mixed reviews. The franchise’s next instalment is set to be “Shakti Shalini” by Aneet Padda.
In 2025, Siddiqui has already added several projects to his résumé. After Costao, he appeared in Main Actor Nahin Hoon and the Netflix film Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders. He now has upcoming releases including Section 108, Noorani Chehra, Sangeen and The Great Escape Faraar. Outside of acting, Siddiqui holds a master’s degree in journalism and has spent more than a decade working as a field reporter and sub‑editor for publications such as The Times of India and Reader’s Digest.
