The film, which debuted on Friday, opened at ₹1.70 crore and, by Saturday, had accumulated a net total of ₹4.20 crore, according to a press release from Sacnilk.
Starring Kemmu alongside Preity Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava and Vanshika Dhir, Vibe follows two untrained civilians who find themselves embroiled in a high‑stakes mission. The narrative hinges on the idea that an ordinary person, when thrust into an extraordinary situation, would naturally look to pop‑culture spy heroes for inspiration. Kemmu explained that the film’s references to characters like Pathaan and Tiger stem from this psychological instinct, rather than any direct parody.
Despite a modest opening, the film’s second‑day collections jumped to ₹2.5 crore, bringing the total to ₹4.2 crore. This performance surpasses the ₹1.50‑₹1.63 crore range that Madgaon Express achieved at the domestic box office. The production, a joint venture between Drongo Films and Amazon MGM Studios, was co‑produced by Kemmu and Chirag Nihalani.
In an interview with PTI, Kemmu reflected on the story’s long‑standing presence in his mind, noting that he had shared the concept with friends long before deciding to direct it. He added that the film’s premise—an ordinary man being pulled into the spy world—is “logical” and “not farcical,” even though the situations are over‑the‑top. The director emphasized that Vibe is not a spoof or parody but a genuine heist comedy that balances humor with a believable plot.
