Nora Fatehi, the celebrated dancer and actress, slipped into the house of Bigg Boss 9 as a wildcard entrant in early December 2015. Her stint lasted only three weeks, ending with her eviction in January 2016, but the experience proved to be a turning point in her career.
According to a candid conversation on the Untriggered podcast, Fatehi had previously dismissed reality shows as unappealing. However, she later realized that they could offer significant exposure. When producers approached her to join Bigg Boss, she was initially hesitant, saying, “I did a bunch of songs, and they weren’t giving my money. The producers must have paid the agency but… I got to wait for them to pay me. They were not paying me, and I was fighting, and it was just crazy… and then they call me and ask, ‘Do you want to do Bigg Boss?’ I am like no I don't want to do and you all do not understand my vision, and bla bla… and then they said that I was getting paid this much money. Then I am like (pauses) okay!”
Fatehi explained that the show was a platform that could instantly elevate a performer’s household name if used wisely. She also negotiated a trade‑off with the producers: she would appear on Bigg Boss in exchange for a spot on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, which airs on the same channel. The swap worked in her favor, securing her a place on the popular dance show.
During her brief time inside the Bigg Boss house, Fatehi developed a close rapport with contestant Prince, who even proposed to her. The pair were frequently seen flirting and cuddling, and Prince later won the season. He expressed gratitude to the show for bringing Fatehi into his life and even offered her a ring and flowers.
Beyond reality television, Fatehi’s career has been expanding internationally. In June 2026, she performed at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony and was featured on the official FIFA 2026 anthem “Siir Siir” alongside Sanjoy and Vegedream. She also announced the single “Slay to the Rhythm” from her forthcoming EP “Play” in August, describing the project as deeply personal. Her track “Sajan Re” with Badshah and a special dance number in the upcoming film Jailer 2, starring Rajinikanth and scored by Anirudh Ravichander, further cement her global presence.
