Actor and former WWE wrestler Saurav Gurjar was taken into custody at Hyderabad’s Gachibowli police station on Sunday, September 20, 2026, after a 29‑year‑old woman filed a complaint accusing him of cheating, physically and mentally harassing her in an alleged attempt to force a marriage. The police traced Gurjar to Mumbai airport, where he was detained before being transported to Hyderabad for further legal action.
The complainant, who has not been named publicly, said she first contacted Gurjar on Instagram in 2021, and their conversation moved to WhatsApp. The two met in person on December 25, 2021, and she claims they maintained a relationship while she was working in the United States. When she returned to India, the relationship continued, according to her statements.
Central to the allegations is that Gurjar persuaded her to quit her job in the U.S. by promising a future marriage and a joint business venture. She says she left her employment based on his assurances, but later found that he blocked her calls whenever she inquired about marriage. The complaint also alleges that Gurjar lived with her from October 2025 to March 2026, and that they continued cohabiting in Hyderabad for a period thereafter before he allegedly left without notice.
The case has been registered by the Gachibowli police, who are investigating the claims. Gurjar has been sent to 14‑day judicial remand while the court examines the evidence. No court decision has yet substantiated the woman’s accusations.
Gurjar, known for his roles in films and television as well as his wrestling career, has not yet issued a public statement regarding the allegations. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities expected to release further updates as the legal process unfolds.
