Mirzapur: The Movie has become the third Hindi film of 2026 to surpass the ₹300‑crore threshold at the global box office, eclipsing earlier hits such as Mahavatar Narsimha and Lokah Chapter One: Chandra. The action‑thriller, released on 4 September in Hindi and Telugu, has gathered a worldwide gross of ₹308 crore after 17 days of theatrical run, according to the latest box‑office reports.
In its opening weekend, the film crossed the ₹100‑crore mark worldwide, buoyed by a strong opening in the North‑Indian markets of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar where it earned ₹25 crore on day one. While the film’s domestic earnings have been the primary driver, it has also performed well overseas, collecting $5.4 million from North America and the Middle East, which helped lift the global tally to ₹308 crore.
Domestically, Mirzapur’s net collections stand at ₹216 crore (₹257 crore gross) after 17 days. The third‑weekend haul of ₹12.25 crore shows a decline from the ₹93 crore opening weekend and the ₹32 crore second weekend, yet the film has managed to avoid a steep drop on Monday, maintaining a steady pace. By its seventeenth day, it was still pulling in ₹5 crore net.
The film’s success places it ninth on the list of highest‑grossing Indian movies of 2027 and the tenth overall. It has overtaken Mahavatar Narsimha’s ₹301 crore and Lokah’s ₹304 crore, and is expected to cross the ₹350 crore mark before its run concludes, surpassing other 2026 blockbusters such as Jana Nayagan, Toxic, and Peddi.
Mirzapur: The Movie is a joint venture between Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment, directed by Gurmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, with co‑producers Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani, the film stars Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit, alongside Pankaj Tripathi and Divyenndu, with a cameo from Jitendra Kumar. The movie’s strong performance underscores the continued appetite for high‑budget, action‑driven Hindi cinema on the global stage.
