Cinema VinesRumours are swirling in Tollywood that director Buchi Babu Sana is eyeing megastar Chiranjeevi for his next project. The speculation follows the success of his first two films, Uppena and Peddi, which both featured members of the Mega family.
Buchi Babu made his directorial debut with Uppena in 2021, introducing Panja Vaisshnav Tej as the lead and also casting Krithi Shetty and Vijay Sethupathi. The film went on to win the National Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu and cemented the director’s reputation.
After a five‑year break, he returned with Peddi in June 2026, a sports‑action drama starring Mega Power Star Ram Charan. The movie’s release marked Buchi Babu’s comeback to the director’s chair.
According to recent reports, Buchi Babu is now preparing a story with Chiranjeevi in mind. While the director has not confirmed the collaboration, he has said that he already has a script ready for his next film and is waiting for the right actor. He added that if Jr NTR were to approach him, he would immediately share the story.
In addition to the Chiranjeevi rumours, there has been speculation that Buchi Babu might work with Mahesh Babu. When asked about these possibilities at a Peddi success event, the director declined to confirm any project and suggested that timing would ultimately decide the outcome.
If the Chiranjeevi partnership comes to fruition, Buchi Babu would have directed three films that each feature a member of the Mega family: Uppena with Vaisshnav Tej, Peddi with Ram Charan, and the potential third film with Chiranjeevi. Such a pattern would create a unique chapter in the director’s career.
