Cinema VinesPanorama Studios, the production house behind hits such as Omkara, Special 26, Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Raid, Shaitaan and the Drishyam franchise, has announced a new partnership with Malayalam actor‑producer Unni Mukundan and his banner Unni Mukundan Films (UMF). The collaboration marks the first time the two national award‑winning houses will work together on a project, combining their creative strengths for a pan‑Indian film.
Unni Mukundan, who has become a prominent pan‑Indian star after the success of Marco, will write and direct the film, which will also be his fiftieth appearance on screen. The move underscores his growing role as an actor‑producer, following the National Award‑winning Meppadiyan and the recent Drishyam 2 directed by Panorama co‑founder Abhishek Pathak.
Panorama Studios chairman Kumar Mangat Pathak said the partnership is “delightful” and highlighted Unni’s track record of taking risks and delivering compelling stories. He added that the writer‑director’s vision and the studio’s experience in producing critically acclaimed and commercially successful cinema create a powerful combination.
Managing director Abhishek Pathak echoed this sentiment, noting his long‑standing admiration for Unni’s conviction in his roles and projects. Pathak praised Unni’s willingness to experiment from Meppadiyan to Marco and expressed excitement about the journey ahead.
While details about the film’s plot, cast and release date remain under wraps, the collaboration signals a significant milestone in Malayalam cinema’s expansion into the pan‑Indian market, bringing together two ambitious creative forces.
