Cinema VinesParvathy Thiruvothu’s latest Malayalam investigative crime thriller, Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar, has topped the Kerala box‑office charts, amassing a total gross of ₹16.10 crore over its first ten days of release. The film, which debuted on 11 September, has already outperformed its own first‑weekend earnings, with the second weekend bringing in ₹5.30 crore compared to ₹5.15 crore in the opening weekend.
According to industry tracker AB George, who posted the figures on X at 11:28 AM on 21 September, the tenth day alone yielded ₹2.42 crore, a record for the film that surpassed the collections of each of the four preceding days. Day‑by‑day earnings began modestly with ₹85 lakh on opening day, then rose to ₹1.90 crore on Day 2 and ₹2.40 crore on Day 3. The momentum slowed slightly with ₹1.70 crore on Day 4, ₹1.50 crore on Day 5, and ₹1.33 crore on Day 6, before dipping to ₹1.12 crore on Day 7.
The second weekend saw a shift in the trend: Day 8 brought in ₹1.10 crore, followed by a surge to ₹1.78 crore on Day 9, and the peak on Day 10 with ₹2.42 crore. With Monday, 21 September marking Day 11, the film has entered its second full week in theatres, and the performance of the ongoing weekday will dictate how the second week unfolds.
Directed by Shahad, Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar follows Aleena, portrayed by Parvathy, who joins the police force after her husband’s death. Her new role places her in complex situations that test her notions of justice and loyalty. The ensemble cast includes Vijayaraghavan, Mathew Thomas, Sidharth Bharathan, Unnimaya Prasad, Azees Nedumangadu, Vinay Forrt, and Radhakrishnan Parthiban, among others.
The screenplay was penned by PS Subramanian and Vijesh Thottingal, with music composed by Mujeeb Majeed. Roby Varghese Raj handled cinematography and Chaman Chakko was responsible for editing. The film was produced by Arjun Selva under the banner 11 Icons and distributed by Central Pictures.
