Cinema VinesPrabhas’s highly awaited period epic Fauzi has been pushed back, with the makers confirming a delay but withholding a new release date. The film, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, was originally slated for a December 3, 2026 debut. However, post‑production challenges have forced the studio to move the release into 2027, according to producer Ravi Shankar.
Shankar made the announcement during the pre‑release event for Nani’s upcoming film The Paradise on September 21. He assured fans that the extra time would be used to elevate the project to a “next‑level” spectacle, comparing it to the grandeur of Baahubali and promising a movie that would be “cherished for a lifetime.” He added, “You haven’t seen brother Prabhas look so grand since Baahubali. It’s a movie of that scale.”
Originally set to compete with Naga Chaitanya’s Vrushakarma and Dulquer Salmaan’s Sri Sri on December 4, 2026, Fauzi will now enter a new release window in 2027. While the exact date remains undisclosed, the studio is expected to announce a fresh schedule soon.
The film marks Prabhas’s return to a period drama after recent high‑budget ventures. It also stars Imanvi Esmail, Sajjad Delafrooz, Mithun Chakraborty and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles. Fauzi is being presented by T‑Series Films and produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar, following the success of Mythri’s Pushpa franchise.
Prabhas’s filmography continues to expand with other projects slated for 2027. After the 2023 hit Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire and the 2024 sci‑fi Kalki 2898 AD, he appeared in the horror‑comedy The Raja Saab this year. In 2027, he is also set to star in Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and featuring Triptii Dimri, with a scheduled March release. The delayed Fauzi will likely be one of at least two major releases for the actor that year.
