Khushboo Patani, the sister of former army officer and actor Disha Patani, took to Instagram on Tuesday to voice her fury. In a video she posted, Khushboo condemned the accused, saying, “India is supposed to become a great nation and a Vishwaguru. Is this how it will happen when women have no respect at all?” She described the alleged assault as “hooliganism” and called the perpetrator “uneducated and ignorant.” The actress added that such behaviour reflects a broader problem of disrespect toward women in the region.
Khushboo questioned why the accused would object to boys and girls walking together, suggesting that his stance might stem from personal insecurities or a history of witnessing violence. She urged the people of Bihar to reflect on their own role in perpetuating a culture where women’s dignity is routinely violated. “If the most IAS and IPS officers come from our state, then why has our law and order system fallen apart?” she asked, challenging citizens to hold themselves accountable as well as the government.
In her appeal, Khushboo called for strict action against the man in the gamcha and his associates. She demanded that they be sent to prison and warned that they must learn a lesson that will deter them from repeating such conduct. The actress also cited her constitutional rights, stating, “My Constitution gives me the complete right to live the way I want. I do not need to ask you how I should live my life.” Her message was clear: the incident must not be ignored, and the perpetrators must face the consequences.
The incident has resonated beyond Jamui, with many pointing to similar cases across other states. Khushboo’s outcry has amplified calls for stronger protective measures for minors and a reevaluation of societal attitudes toward women.
